The Elven languages belong to the second speech family aside the dwarvish one. So different than the human ones about 50 letters are known which are a lot different to the dwarvish alphabet. The elven tribes know different tongues because they never wrote down their vocabulary and ordinarily teach their children mouth to mouth.

Rare scripts can be found at mages like the elven priests. The oldest writings came from the White elves and are still existing in inscriptions in many ruins near Dragonia Vulcania which are also the oldest evidences of written culture in Legonia.
