History
The last settlement
In an ancient time, the dwarves had a giant civilisation in the northern lands, but this race is one of the oldest and nearly died out. Most dwarven tribes left the western continent while the ice age, but one small colony in the north-western mountains still exists. Main reasons for the exodus were the bloody war against dragons and the beginning of an ice age.
The oldest record of the underground city of Dwarven Peak mention the year 1007 o.C., which is official the founding date of the current kingdom now. It was build as refuge for the case, that the dragons would start a revenge after Dwarves and Elves just destroyed the big nests in Dragonia Vulcania. over the next 300 years the tunnels expanded into a giant kingdom.
Since 1360, when the last dwarven tribes left the western continent, nobody has met the dwarves of Dwarven Peak.
Breaking the isolation
The underground caverns were discovered just a few years ago, caused of the dwarven shyness. Since then, they have an intensive trading relationship to King Udalrich.
Politics
Although the north-western mountains officially belong to the Northern Kingdom, the dwarven homes keep a self-controlled kingdom with endless caverns, mines and natural tunnels. So, they still have an own king. The current leader is King Bragi, who rules in a friendly and peaceful way.
Culture
The dwarven culture consists of high knowlegde of architecture, smithing and celebration. A dwarf wouln't stay long somewhere, where he can't find beer. Basicly, dwarves aren't the biggest adventurers and prefer to stay at their homeland.
Dwarves believe, that they're the first race which was given the element of fire by the big something, so thetemple of the big fire is responsible for holding most of the official festivals.
Economy
Most important goods are their minerals, they’re mining in the mountains and of course, their popular weapons and armors. These exports go to the Northern Kingdom.
Rare goods with magical power, which grew in the underground caverns and rivers like crystals , mushrooms or alges were sold to merchands, who bring them to every corner of the world.
