Probably the most important and well-known celebrity in north-legonian history, Merlin had big influence in politics of the northern lands, the culture of the Northlegonians and Northmen and especially in the use of spellcast-magic in many modern cultures and races. Various inventions and scientific discoveries are based on Merlin's work. So he is known as advisor of the king Torkash, as scientist and first blue mage, and first author of the book Legonia. But not much is known about his private life. It's unknown where he came from and when he was born. Some people think, Merlin became several hundred years old.

Life&career
- 1518 o.C. The first appearance of the name Merlin in the Dragon Empire. 1518 an old man visited a village festival for the big something and presented some tricks. Everybody was surprised because no human before was known as sorceror.
- 1520's o.C.Merlin started to build the big dragon cove fortress, where he prisoned a green dragon for studying. Later there the first dragon riders will be trained.
- 1556 o.C. The new Dragon Empire was created. King Torkash made Merlin to his highest advisor, his goal was to use dragon riders in his army and increase his kingdom to the fresh green fields in the south.
- 1560's o.C. Merlin improved the northern society with science projects, invented good waterwheels, imposant architecture designs, and first school lessons for the noble men. He also teached Atork and Mulrich for the king.
- 1570's o.C. Merlin succeded training dragon riders for the military. After the Dragon empire had expanded to the Lion Kingdom's border again, the Dragon War started.
- 1590's o.C.After the dragon war failed, Merlin isolated himself in one of his mountain refuges to concentrate on his magical studies. It's said that the Book of Legonia was written in these times.
- 1600's o.C. The correct date is unknown but after Merlin has seen more and more rare, his death was accepted in puplic. Without him, the high culture of the empire decayed and other problems became more important.
The mage, the advisor, the legend
Merlin's main success for the world was his study of the science of magic. He is known as the inventor of the spellcast art which allows ordinary non-magical races to manipulate Mana of their environment for magical effects. Most lessons, spells and knowlegde Blue mage academies are teaching today are based on Merlin's private scolars. So, the blue mages are seeing themselves as true followers of Merlin and think that other sorcerors like witches or druids haven't the right to use his wisdom. Though Merlin counts as first blue mage, forgotten tales mention a man called Valious as first human with magic abilities. These tales go back to the 11th century and not many believe, that Valious and Merlin may be one and the same person.
King Torkash made Merlin to his highest advisor. But instead of just creating the dragon rider forces, Merlin took the chance to manipulate the whole politics of the dragon empire. His advisement helped Torkash to improve military, education, economy and diplomatic relationships with noble families. In later centuries, people say, it was Merlin who gave the Dragon Empire its glory and not the king. Also the Dragon War is assumed to be an idea of Merlin to spread his influence over the continent. Since him, most kings have a blue mage as personal advisor and so the blue mage academies have big influence on politics.
Merlin's true intentions and personality are unknown. He was definately a complex character who avoid other persons and prefered to study the nature and its magic. Some also said he was more familiar to his dragons than his king. We can't say if he had secret evil plans or good ideas to improve the world but fact is, Legonia wouldn't be what it is today without this unique extraordinary intelligent man.
