Aside the vikings and the Gelojhors, the black dragon army is the third seperation of northlegonian barbarian tribes of the 14th and 15th century.

History

Between 1100-1400 o.C. barbarian ships landed at the viking coast and started colonizing the northlands. Those, who stayed at the coast are called vikings, the northern settlers Gelojhors and the people of the dragon forests northmen. The black dragon army was the first union of northmen tribes.

1486 o.C. the black dragon knights met the lion kingdom in the south and planned to conquer fruitful space on the middle fields.

1507 o.C. their invasion in the lion kingdom failed. Some months later, their main forces were killed and the black dragon fortress destroyed.

The influence of the black dragon knights decreased until Merlin united the tribes again to create the more civilisated Dragon Empire 1556 o.C. .

Culture

As barbarians, the black dragon knights were low educated and simplified. Most people lived in small villages as hunters or lumberjacks, religion or art had secondary importance. The union of warriors was supposed to be a conqueror army instead of developing economy or a government, so the warlords were always the highest persons in battles while the daily life was still controlled by town councils and elders. A culture for all villages didn't exist, everyone had its own rules and traditions which were mostly primitive. The Dragon empire should changed the situation later.

Military

Basicly, the military was a bunch of warriors. Axes, short swords, hellebards, bows and spears were used. The armor was simple, but some units did have chainmails and iron helmets.

The most important constitution was the black dragon fortress near the "Nordkamm", the border mountains to the lion kingdom, which was destroyed 1507 o.C. . Here, mercenaries and warriors of all the villages met each other to organise bigger armies. Against the perfect organised and better armored army of the lion kingdom, they had no chance but the strong men were known for their braveness and brutality.
