Lionell Arthur de lion was the first king of the Lion Kingdom, so he basicly set the ground of the northlegonian politics and aristocracy.
Biography
- 1449 o.C. Lionell is born somewhere in Middle fields
- 1470 o.C. Foundation of Lion Kingdom; Lionell became first king.
- 1486 o.C. To improve defence against northern barbarians, Lionell decides heavy military reforms.
- 1512 o.C. King Lionell died and his son, Leopold united Lion and eagle kingdom.
Life and Work
King Lionell is still popular in Middle Kingdom though he had critics in his career. Especially the western settlers of Outlaw hills hated him for strict tax politics and fought his government. On other side, he strenghtened the military to keep the Lion Kingdom safe against possible intruders from the north. As first king in the family of de lions he started one of the strongest aristocrate bloodlines in North Legonia, which is still ruling today. The family's sign, the lion is also still part of many cities and shires in Middle Kingdom.
Character and Family
Not much is known as facts and many facts rewritten in history books to improve Lionell's popularity. As one of the first kings, his origin isn't a noble one, his family de lion owned big parts of land and many farms in Middle fields and a high influence in economy. He was known as an educated and calm man which may was the reason to crown him as the country's leader. With a young woman of another noble family, Lionell had a son, Leopold, who married King Mathias daughter and later became king of Lion and Eagle kingdom. With 63 years Lionell became very old in his time.
