All that's known is that the druids of the west are the last intelligent people reached the edges of the untouched landscape and even they are fearing the dark of the endless mist.

No human can say exactly, what kind of creatures are living here, but the legends and rumours tell about fantastic and ancient things and giant monsters. The mystic Elves control and defend these lands since centuries. The arrogant and power searching human are very suspicious for them, so they avoid most contacts to them. Old histories told about tall and long-eared humans, who were living on the continent since ancient ages.

-
To the west, a grand mountain massive keeps the southern coast of Endsea hided. Between the high peaks the only vulcano of the continent is still active since centuries. The valleys are called Dragonia Vulcania, because most people think, that there’re the homelands of the dragon races. Some mysterious prophets say, that an ancient demon portal also exist in these areas protected by dragonian humanoids. The westside of the mountains ends into the swamps of Shuzzu, further besides the south coasts the mountains go over the whole continent. In the south the begin of the tropical forest marks the natural border of the elven world. These mountains aside Dragonia Vulcania are called Ahl'Shiara.

Deep in the south of the continent, between high mountains, dark forests and dangerous swamps a powerful kingdom existed in ancient time. Legends tell about a high tower fortress and a black bat king, who rided a black dragon. But he isolated people of magical skills, so these fought him soon. Maybe that war was the end of his kingdom, but it isn’t proved. Today only the ruins tell about it. And some old ghosts and undead, who never want to leave their home.

Due to the ark'tohlian pantheon, this hot desert was created by the god [[Gods#Arkos/Arkando|Arkos]] to test the humans. Except some hundred nomad caravanes, nobody live here. But at the oasis some long forgotten ruins await for their discovery.

The Frost Razor Mountains are the highest peaks of the world, but in this cold world no human would survive for long periods. Some rumours say, that big monkeys called Yetis are living there. Next to the Forgotten Kingdom, a lost world increased up to the sea. Nobody knows exactly, what creatures and monsters you would meet in the Lost Forests. Where forest, swamps, iced sea, high mountains and jungle meet each other, the Bay of Eternity collects all magical power of nature. Most mages believe, that here magic was born by itself.

Current revision as of 17:03, 28 December 2012

The western continent is the most peopled and contains all climate zones from the arctic north to the Frost Razor Mountains. Aside, the continent is divided by the Big River, which is border between northern human kingdoms and the Elven world. The oldest and most developed kingdoms are in the north, while the southern landscapes are wild.

Contents

The Far North

The arctic and frozen coast in the north is peopled by just a few hundred men.

Rivers, lakes and coasts

Kingdoms and Factions:

Peoples

The lowlands

A tundra region of snowy fields, where environment is so hard, that only strong Gelojhors, monsters and icebears could survive for longer periods. But also some rare plants are growing here in summer. The biggest dangers would be the deadly blizzards and cold nights. Along the coasts the hunting area for valannats and sagfishs begins.

Ljumhill

The center area in a valley between the northern mountains and the Skattjhore mountains contains some small forests and the last trees in the north. Here some fortified settlements are laying along the Regin river.

Also viking settlers come in the last years to expand their territories.

Skattjhore

The skattjhore is a dangerous mountain region, where nobody lives. Also animals are rare because walking through the heavy storms at the sharp cliffs is some kind of suicide.

More interesting is the underground because in many caves worthy crystals, diamonds and other minerals are assumed.

The Northern lands 1

Between snow-covered mountains, misty valleys and deep green coniferous forests, the old culture of the Northern Kingdom is alive.

Rivers, lakes and coasts

Kingdoms and Factions:

Peoples

Dragon forests

In former time, it was the land of the dragons, where the Dragon Empire trained their Dragon-riding warriors. Today, most dragons died out but their mystic world is still a wild nature. People live in smaller villages between the dragon forests or along the northern mountains in one of several mountain fortresses.

Northern Mountains

High cliffs hide dozens of secret caves and the mountain fortresses of the Northern Kingdom. The northern mountains are snow covered 9 of 12 months a year.

North-western mountains

Although the north-western mountains officially belong to the Northern Kingdom, the dwarven homes keep a self-controlled kingdom with endless caverns, mines and natural tunnels under and around the biggest mountain, Dwarven Peak. Aside, the Regin river crosses the land to end in Endsea

Viking coast

To the East, the deep woods end in a coast of long fjords and high cliffs. The cold Viking Sea is an unloved environment with hard winters and deadly winds. Many tales warn about giant watersnakes, dragons and other monsters living in the sea.

The Northern lands 2

Behind the southern mountains of the Northern Kingdom, one of the strongest human kingdoms holds its area from the snowy mountains of "Nordkamm" in the North to the Big River in the South, from the western forests to the long coasts of the Azure Ocean in the East. The oldest human cultures developed there, so this area is the typical "human" world.

File:Middlefields.jpg

Rivers, lakes and coasts

Kingdoms and Factions

Peoples

Middle fields

The biggest area is called the middle fields, a green plain used for farming. The best corn and the freshiest vegetable and fruit come from the central shires of Middle Kingdom.

Nordkamm

To the north, the highest peak Nordkamm delivers much copper, iron and gold for the kingdom. In winter, the mountains are snowcovered. Many animals live there. Not long ago the area was low populated, but since big mineral resources were found, the shire Bergfingen and its main city grew quickly.

Nordmark(landscape)

The north-east of Middle Kingdom is a treeless pasture.

Moorflüt(landscape)

The eastern coastregion around the shire Moorflüt is filled with everglades and misty woods. A loved place for alchemists and witches.

Deadwood

In the North-west, this big forest is avoided by most people. In past, a bloody war happened here, later the place got cursed. Only blackmages and villains search for refuges in the dark woods, where undead are evocated. Between Deadwood and Middle Kingdom there's a small river. But after all the killing in this place's history, people forgot its original name, so it's just called the river of blood.

Deathfields

The southern part of Deadwood is a low populated mountain and forest region. Some ore mines and a lot of lumberjack settlements exist here. Also hunters love the area.

The West

The west marks the end of modern human civilisation. Wild forests, swamps and mountains keep old secrets. Only a few travelled and explored this part of the world and their stories mention fantastic creatures, strong amazones and forgotten ruins.

Outlaw Hills

The woods and mountains in the west are filled with rogues, creatures and undead followers of the dark mage. Further, the Outlaw Hills is an area, which doesn’t belong to the Middle Kingdom. Here many wild villages and archaic tribes without any governments are settled. Today it’s a wild land, where everybody has to find his own way to survive. Further in the south, the mystic druids get more and more influence at the people. Their Hain of druids is the western border of human civilisation.

Hain of druids

The Hain of druids is a mystic place. Rumours tell about living plants and trees but the mysterious druids don't allow foreigners to enter their homeland. It's also mentioned as home for the biggest Dryad population on Legonia.

Swamps of Shuzzu

The biggest everglade in Legonia is an untravelaible wilderness. Not its real expanse, its lifeforms and plants, not even the origin of its name is remembered by the legonian people. All that's known is that the druids of the west are the last intelligent people reached the edges of the untouched landscape and even they are fearing the dark of the endless mist.

The Elven World

At the southern border of the Middle Kingdom, the Big River devides the whole continent. In this big blue water more than 20 ships can pass each other besides. Behind this natural line, the endless deep-green forest of the Elves begins.

Elven Forests

No human can say exactly, what kind of creatures are living here, but the legends and rumours tell about fantastic and ancient things and giant monsters. The mystic Elves control and defend these lands since centuries.Old histories told about tall and long-eared humans, who were living on the continent since ancient ages. The vegetation is a big varitey of high trees, plants, rare herbs, small lakes and secret caves. Here and there, white ruins of ancient cultures can be found covered with plants.

Dragonia Vulcania

To the west, a grand mountain massive keeps the southern coast of Endsea hided. Between the high peaks the only vulcano of the continent is still active since centuries. The valleys are called Dragonia Vulcania, because most people think, that there’re the homelands of the dragon races. Some mysterious prophets say, that an ancient demon portal also exists in these areas protected by dragonian humanoids. The westside of the mountains ends into the Swamps of Shuzzu, further besides the south coasts the mountains go over the whole continent.

Ahl'shiara

In the south of the elven forests the begin of the tropical forest marks the natural border of the elven world. These mountains aside Dragonia Vulcania are called Ahl'Shiara. Ahl'shiara is a very curious mixture of north-legonian trees and plants and tropical ones and the only spread-place of Juckjes.

Nah'lsalitah'aan / Nal'salitaan

Only mentioned in ancient elvish legends, there's a land behind the western Ahl'shiara. Isolated from the civilisated world unknown races have spread and expanded their cultures. Also Goblin citties should exist.

Ark'tohl desert

Due to the ark'tohlian pantheon, this hot desert was created by the god Arkos to test the humans. Except some hundred nomad caravanes, nobody live here. But at the oasis some long forgotten ruins await for their discovery.

Skorpion river

Along the skorpion river, the ark'tohlian farms and hunting areas are build. But a huge population of dinosaurs make the region a dangerous place, also.

Emirate's land

Hot, and with less plants and trees, the emirate's land is a hard tropical landscape but still the main lifespace for the empire. Along the coastline of the bay of Ark'tohl, agriculture is possible.

Southern jungles

Partly undiscovered, the southern jungle is the last refuge for free jungle tribes like the insulans.

Ark'?

There's still undiscovered and hard discoverable land hidden in valleys and jungles. What mysteries can be found here?

The Southern World

Deep in the south of the continent, between high mountains, dark forests and dangerous swamps a powerful kingdom existed in ancient time. File:South.jpg

Forgotten Kingdom

Legends tell about a high tower fortress and a black bat king, who rided a black dragon. But he isolated people of magical skills, so these fought him soon. Maybe that war was the end of his kingdom, but it isn’t proved. Today only the ruins tell about it. And some old ghosts and undead, who never want to leave their home.

Frost Razor Mountains

The Frost Razor Mountains are the highest peaks of the world, but in this cold world no human would survive for long periods. Some rumours say, that big monkeys called Yetis are living there.

Lost Forests

Next to the Forgotten Kingdom, a lost world increased up to the sea. Nobody knows exactly, what creatures and monsters you would meet in the Lost Forests. Here and there footsteps of titans can be found covered by plants.

Bay of Eternity

Where forest, swamps, iced sea, high mountains and jungle meet each other, the Bay of Eternity collects all magical power of nature. Most mages believe, that here magic was born by itself. Long ago, it was the meeting place for forging a powerful artifact.

Islands and other places

Along the coasts of the western continent there are many known and unknown islands.

White Rock is an unexplored island along the Azure coast and called after its chalk cliffs. Next to the Bay of Ark’tohl, the caribbean-like Fog Islands are forbidden for visitors. Here some very archaic tribes live. Far to the East, the biggest island is called Peng Cheng. The only place in western Legonia, where bamboo plants grew. But the biggest part of the island is covered by mountains and forests. An old and isolated culture of ninjas and samurais exists there. South to Peng Cheng, the Nulusha Atolls seem to be unexplored. Some old samurai stories meant them as the home of the Shazzuru demons. Other think about secret hideouts of pirates.
