Often misinterpreted as ghosts, the Jinns are really an acting race in Legonia.
Origin
These astrally lifeforms lived in the Ark'tohl desert. While the Ark'tohl empire expanded in the 16th century, the Jinns slowly disappeared.
The truth is, that their natural magic ability allows them to exist in different dimensional spheres outside our world. In these intermediate world, which is also responsible for death evocation and ghost magic, the Jinn race lived fo centuries without need of natural resources or own territories in Legonia.
Interaction with humans and myths
But mages of the Skorpion Emirates succeed to bring some individuals back into our sphere and banned them, e.g. in bottles, amulettes etc. Those Jinns or bottleghosts are cursed to offer other beeings their magic skills until they let them free. Some intelligent Jinns make good deals using the limited knowlegde about their race. For example, they tell their masters, that those only have 3 wishes and have to free the Jinn after or would be cursed by the gods.
Because Jinns are not bound to any worlds, they're theoretically immortal. But a banned, for longer periods in one sphere staying Jinn starts to age.
