Vladeks, or by normal people just called Vampires are a cursed race of undead, which developed its own society.
Biology
Optically, they look similiar to humans but have a pale to white skin. Different rumours variate between sharp tooths, small till giant claws or giant bat-like biests. The truth is unknown, but we can assume, that Vladeks have humanoid bodies and unnatural skills of physical and magical kind. So, stories about an undead beeing or at least a long lifetime is posible. Also a weakness to sunlight caused by their thin skin is believable.
Origins
Many legends and theories deal about the Vladek race but most of their origins don't based on facts because no many human have ever met a Vladek.
The only trustful source is the Book of Legonia, which mentions the official name "vladek" first instead of vampire. Vladek is a word of the magicain's language and means translated "Who's living in Darkness" (Vl-la-dek).
The book Legonia points the Vladek's homeland in the Forgotten Kingdom and assumes that their origin is connected with the witchwars while the time of the Bat Kingdom. So, Vladeks were normal humans once until dark magic transformed them into a special kind of intelligent undead, which can't survive in sunlight for long periods. So the Vladeks hided in caves, dungeons or ruins. Isolated and feared by the humans, they created own societies in which they live until now. For the first years, they were hunted as evil demons, later the bat kingdom decayed but the hate to humans is still alive.
Culture
In many stories, they are blood-eating monsters or just giant bats. The book of Legonia describes them as intelligent aristocratic society, which wants to build a new kingdom better and stronger than human ones. Their biggest goal should be the exctinction of the humans as revenge for their endless pain, which they were get by human mages.
