Biology
The offspring of Peng-Cheng Sailors and marauding Temp'la, the Merrows are an aquatic race of half fish people. Eye-catching is their long backfin, which makes one half of their length. The upper part appears human-like but with a copper to green skin colour and often covered in fish scales. Merrows can breath underwater and on land for short time periods. Merrows count to the natural mages because their singing are enchanting to other races and other illusionary spells are used, too.
Origin/History
Tales of sailors often mention evil ghosts of the sea, who trapped ships on rock outcroppings or enchant tough men to betra each other. Some of these may are lies, others are originated in maritime races like the Merrows, who seem to have their homeland in the Mistsong gulf east of Peng Cheng.
Culture
Very little is known about their race, as they live and sustain themselves beneath the water, feeding only on Kelp and Fish, and stealing whatever else is needed. Living in deep hidden crags beneath the water, the Merrows satisfy themselves with sport, causing shipwrecks. They are widely known for their enchanting songs and illusionary spells that lure sailors to their death. It is by this method that they obtain treasure, which above all else (especially gold) is held as a sign of status within their race. Merrows make good Bandits and Spell-casters, though their magic is not dictated by the blue order.
