History
1563 o.C. the regime of the Ark'tohl Empire in the emirate's land east of the Ark'tohl desert lost the support of many groups in its society. They were against the enslavement of intelligent races but weren't also able to fight Ark'kala's bloodline, so they left the country to settle somewhere else. Soon they arrived the green valleys of the northern Frost Razor Mountains.
1598 o.C. the batlord united those settlements between the desert and the Frost Razor Mountains. After he crowned himself to a king only his black dragon, which he controlled saved his power. Soon, people accepted his rulement but he always feared people with magic abilities and thoguht, they would fight him one day. So magicains became hunted by the Fright Knights.
These isolated people of magical skills were forced to live aside the desert but fought him soon and started a revolution. The Batlord's dragon and hs army faced groups of mages. Not everybody liked maged because they planned their own rulement over the people, so the kingdom had split into two factions and a civil war.
The eternal conflict, which will be remembered as the witchwars destroyed the citties, killed most people and also changed the fruitful landscape into a deserted environment.
Maybe that war was the end of his kingdom, but it isn’t proved because nobody has ever heard of the kingdom again. After the Book of Legonia ,in the 1630's, so around 30 years after the kingdom was founded nothing left of it.
Culture
Not much is known about the forgotten culture but we can surely say, that magic and so religious topics weren't parts of daily life. The Kingdom stayed united because people feared the batlords dragon and his strong army. The freedom, peasants escaped the Ark'tohl Empire for, wasn't found here. Controlled by the king, society broke quickly.
Military
Like the culture, only a few information are official. So the batkingdom's army used grey and red colours and a bat as symbol. In the south of West-Legonia only a few horses existed so most soldiers were infantries.
Fright Knights
The only military forces, mentioned in records, were called the Fright Knight group. These infantry unit had two missions:
- to defend the batlord's tower fortress and himself
- to hunt and kill all sorts of mages
The Fright Knights were loyal followers of Lord Batman.
The tower fortress
The biggest fortress of the batking stood somewhere in the central area of the kingdom and was an awesome tall castle with one giant tower, where the king lived.
In underground caves beneath, the big black dragon lived.
