Lord Batman or the batlord was the ruler of the Bat Kingdom in the south of the western continent. Many myths are surrounding his origin, life and death. In fact, not many sources are telling the past of the forgotten kingdom. But the blue mage society affirmed the theory, that the batlord really existed and was the main head who united the independent settlements of former ark'tohlian colonists. Also assumed is that he had an extraordinary fear or hate against people who are experienced in magic, so he banned the sorcerors of the south and started the Witchwars. Legends tell that he lived isolated in a tower fortress and his big black dragon was his only friend while he distrusted all humans. His personal guards were the Fright Knights.

Life & career

  • ~1575 o.C The batlord was born as unknown child somewhere in the southern settlements of Ark'tohl.
  • 1598 o.C. Lord Batman united the people between the Frost Razor mountains and the Ark’thol desert. He created his Bat Kingdom by building his giant Tower Fortress and crowned himself.
  • 1630/3? o.C. The Bat Kingdom decayed after Lord Batman died. In the legends of Ark’thol it got the name Forgotten Kingdom. Noone knows, if some people still live there or left the country, but it was definetely the end of the Witch Wars.

Death or Afterlife?

As mysterious as his life was, as cryptic is his end. Nobody knows exactly how the Witchwars ended and why the kingdom decayed forever within that short period of time. While his fortress can be found as lifeless ruin his corpse was never official found. Many people in the Skorpion Emirates fear that the batlord and the lost souls of his men would come back one day as undead army. Origin of this myth is the belief that the batlord himself was a soreror or at least owned powerful artifacts and that he may signed a contract with the demongod Nekron before the last battle against the witchers to rescue himself. Until today, the forgotten lands aren't visited anymore so myths stays myths...
