Background
1645/46 o.C. the undead invasion of the Black army threatened Middle and Northern Kingdom and forced all humans of the northern lands to unite against the evil black mage and his demon cult. After the last siege of a mountain fortress in Northern Kingdom, brave heroes found out, that all battles were nothing more than a distraction because meanwhile the black mage and his main forces travelled south to Dragonia Vulcania. His real plan was revealed when the high blue mage academy found old scripts telling about an ancient demon portal hidden near the vulcano. The demon whorshippers and their leader planned to free ancient demongods and became their new choosen race. To defeat the black army and rescue the world of the demon menace, the Middle Kingdom, Northern Kingdom, Dwarven Peak and elven forces united to one big army and travelled into the unknown landscapes of the middle-west.
Factions
The good side sent all the rests of their armies survived the undead invasion and also many volunteers and mercenaries joined the forces of light. It's said that about 850 warriors of Northern Kingdom under King Udalrich, 1200 soldiers of Middle Kingdom under King Leo III., 600 dwarves under King Bragi, 700 elven warriors and 1000 voluntary militias joined the battle. Just about 400 people came back alive.
The black mage and an unclear amount of members of the dark worship of the high lords of the new world, of the unholy circle of demons, chaos and the last days lead the black army. More than 3000 undead and 1000 evil mercenaries (Humans, Ogres and Troggs) hold defence lines around the western mountains of Dragonia Vulcania while the black mages started their evil ritual.
The Battle
Not much is sure, but it was a wild and epic battle. A big amount of magic was used and changed the landscape forever. Thousands of brave men died but after all efforts, noone was able to reach the black mage, who entered an unholy shrine near the vulcano crater. It is said that a powerful blue mage was the hero who tricked the skelleton army and surprised the ritual that should free the old demongods. The dark mage was able to interrupt the holy spell around the mystic demon portal, but was defeated before he was able to open it. After that giant battle, the vulcano errupted caused by all the magic used in that epic combat. Most people died in a rain of fire around the vulcano. But the world was safe again.
Conclusions
- Dragonia Vulcania errupted and the demon portal is lost under kilometres of stone. Only a few survivors came back to tell about the battle and the evil plan.
- A legend told, that if the holy spell around the portal would be interrupted once, it will became active all 3000 years to became a great menace for the world. So the Kings of the northern continent decided to start a New Chronology,which spread to most legonian cultures. The Year 0 N.C. began.
- A short period of peace starts in the northern lands. The New Age.
